Welcome to the Strathendrick Football Club site. The club was set up by local volunteers in the summer of 2005, with the aim of providing children the opportunity to play football. Using Balfron Campus as our home base we now attract over 140 children, aged 5 -14, on a weekly basis.
All those under the age of 8 are invited to our Saturday morning soccer school. At this age the children do not participate in organised games against other clubs. Organised games commence at the age of 8 and the teams take part in the Fun Fours within the Forth Valley Development League. These games take place at Little Kerse in Grangemouth on a Saturday morning.
The next stage of development for the children is playing seven a side football. This happens up until the age of 11. The aim of the seven a side game is to encourage the children to have as much of the ball as possible. No league tables or scores are kept as the key feature within the Forth Valley is to develop the children’s skill at this stage.
From the age of 12 the teams move on to playing the traditional 11 a side game. After a bedding in period League tables are kept. Currently we have an under 14 and under 15 side competing.
Coaching sessions take place throughout the week at Balfron Campus. All our coaches take part in SFA coaching programmes and are cleared through Disclosure Scotland.
As a club we are always keen to attract new members and volunteers. You do not have to be a football coach! If you can help out with fund raising or in other administrative ways we would be happy to hear from you.
